I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Indian Rice Pilaf


Indian Rice Pilaf

3/4 cup margarine
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 1/2 cups uncooked regular rice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp. curry powder
1/8 tsp pepper
3 1/2 cups chicken broth

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt margarine in skillet. 
Add onion and rice; cook and stir till rice is yellow and onion tender. 

Stir in next 5 ingredients and pour into an ungreased 2 qt. casserole. 

Heat chicken broth to boiling and stir into rice mixture. 

Cover tightly and bake 30 to 40 minutes or till liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. 

8 servings (1/2 cup each)
