Low Fat Not-Fried Asian Rice
Serving Size : 6
2 teaspoons sesame oil
3/4 cup chopped green onions
2 cloves garlic -- minced
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
2 cups water
1 cup rice -- uncooked
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
In nonstick skillet, heat oil.
Cook and stir onion, garlic and bell pepper 1 minute.
Add water.
Bring to boil.
Reduce to simmer.
Stir in rice and egg white.
Simmer, stirring often, 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
Stir in soy sauce and sugar.
Cook 3-5 minutes longer until sugar caramelizes.
