Beef Stroganoff
1 1/2 lbs. beef stew, cut in small pieces
2 t. butter
2 T. catsup
1 clove garlic
1 tsp.salt
1 pkg. mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, chopped
3 T. flour
1 c. milk or cream
Cook and stir beef in butter in a large skillet, over low heat until browned; stir in the catsup, garlic and salt, heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until beef is tender; 1-1 1/2 hours. Stir in mushrooms and onion. Cover and simmer until onion is tender. Stir flour gradually into beef mixture, heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute, reduce heat, stir in milk or cream. Serve over hot buttered noodles.
