Asian Chopped Steak Burgers with Wasabi-Mayo Slaw
***Wasabi Slaw***
2/3 cup mayo or enough to bind as desired
3 teaspoons wasabi powder
6 cups coleslaw mix
1 cup red bell pepper strips
1/2 cup chopped green onion
***Steak***
2 pounds ground beef, as lean as possible
8 tablespoons soy sauce
3 teaspoons minced garlic
8 large romaine or Boston lettuce leaves
Mix coleslaw ingredients, blend well and chill.
Combine beef, 1 Tbsp soy sauce and garlic. Shape meat into patties.
Grill uncovered 11 to 13 minutes or done, basting with remaining soy sauce. Place burgers in lettuce leaves and top with the slaw. Serves 8.
Note: place burgers in rolls if you wish instead of the lettuce leaves.
