A GOOD PICNIC CAKE
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Topping:
1/2 c. pecans
10 large marshmallows
1/2 c. light brown sugar
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk and vanilla. Grease a 9 x 9-inch cake pan. Cut marshmallows in half and arrange on top. Mix sugar and pecans and sprinkle on batter. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
