Almond Cherry Dainties
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1 whole egg
1 tsp almond flavoring
1 c. butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 jar (10 oz.) maraschino cherries, chopped
purchased or homemade pink frosting
Combine powdered sugar, egg, almond flavoring, butter and vanilla.
Beat very well. Add flour, salt, nuts, baking soda, cream of tartar and chopped cherries. Chill 1 hour (covered) or overnight.
Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until light-brown. Cool and frost with pink frosting.
