I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Halloween Soup

Halloween Soup

Aside from trick-or-treating, nothing is more fun for Halloween than making some tasty, easy Halloween recipes. This delicious black bean Halloween soup is warm and wonderful, and you can always eat it any time...not just for Halloween.
Ingredients

    1 pound black beans
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, diced
    2 tablespoons A-1 Sauce
salt and cayenne pepper to taste
1 pound carrots, sliced into rounds
    cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Rinse and soak beans for 6 hours or overnight.
Drain beans and empty into a large soup pot.
Add enough water to cover the beans by 2 to 3 inches.
Bring to a boil and then skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
    Add garlic and onion.
Lower heat and cook until onions are soft, about 15 minutes.
Next, add A-1 Sauce and salt and cayenne pepper to taste.
    Cook for about 1 hour.
Add carrots and continue cooking for another 30 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro, if desired, before serving.
