I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Frosted Banana Bars

Frosted Banana Bars

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
4 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to a greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool.
For frosting: Cream butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. gradually add sugar and vanilla; beat well. Spread over bars. Makes 3 dozen.
