I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Tarbbouleh Turkey Burgers



Tarbbouleh Turkey Burgers


10 ounces lean ground turkey
 3/4 cup chopped tomatoes -- seeded
 1/2 cup cooked bulgur
 1/4 cup chopped scallions
 1/4 cup plain nonfat yogurt
 2 teaspoons ground cumin
 1/4 teaspoon salt
 2 whole wheat pita breads -- split & grilled *
 1 medium sliced tomatoes

* Recipe called for 4 - 1 ounce whole wheat pitas, I used 2 large ones cut in 1/2.

Spray grill rack with nonstick cooking spray. Place grill rack 5" from coals.
 Prepare grill according to manufacturer's directions.

In large bowl, combine turkey, chopped tomato, bulgur, scallions, yogurt, mint, cumin and salt. Lightly moisten hands; shape mixture into 4 equal patties.

Grill 10-12 minutes, turning once, until cooked through. Serve burgers in pitas with sliced tomato.

This recipe uses bulgur, fresh mint, yogurt, cumin, all used in Middle East recipes.
