I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Cherry Bon Bons Candy

Cherry Bon Bons Candy


1/2 lb. butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/4 cups flour
dash salt
Maraschino cherries

Icing:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
enough cherry juice (to color icing as pink as you like)
2 tbsp. butter or margarine

Heat oven to 325º F. (185º C). Mix all ingredients but cherries in mixing bowl. Take a little piece of dough, put a cherry in the middle of dough. Add another piece of dough on top and roll into ball. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 15 - 20 minutes (check sooner). Icing: Mix ingredients and ice when cool.

Makes about 36.
