I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Smoky Beef Brisket Sauce

Ingredients

2-1/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 to 3 teaspoons Liquid Smoke
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

* In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.

 Yield: 2-1/2 cups.
