Notes

I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Wet Burritos

Wet Burritos

24 ounces tomato sauce
1 tablespoon of chilli powder
2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon basil
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 -3 tablespoons of sugar
shredded cheddar cheese
1-2 pounds ground beef
1 packet of taco seasoning
lettuce (shredded)
5-6 tortilla shells
8 ounce can of refried beans

In medium pan, mix tomato sauce, chilly powder, oregano, basil, onion, and sugar (more or less to taste). Simmer for 1/2 hour. While sauce is simmering... brown/drain ground beef. Then add 1/2 package of taco seasoning and refried beans. Mix well and remove from heat. Warm tortilla shell slightly in microwave (makes them easier to work with) and begin to build your burritos (makes 5-6 large burritos)by placing about 1/5th the meat/bean mixture and some of the lettuce in each burritto. Wrap the shell around the meat (this may take a little practice ). Place the burritos in an oven safe pan (or two if needed). Then pour the sauce over the burrittos and top with cheese. Place in a pre-heated oven (350 degrees) for about 10 minutes (until the cheese bubbles). No need to keep in the oven too long since the ingredients are most likely still warm/hot. Remove from oven, top with your favorite sour cream, guacamole, or nothing at all.
