I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Tomato Jam
3 c. cut up tomatoes
2 c. sugar
1 box lemon Jello
Cook from boiling point for 15 minutes. Take off stove and add 1 box of lemon Jello
