MOTHER'S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
large bag chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients and bake on
greased sheet at 350 degrees
for 10 to 12 minutes.
My mother got this recipe in junior
high home economics
class in the late 30's. It's as good
now as it was then!
