Notes

I think the notes people include in their recipes make them more personal. If I write a note myself about a recipe, it will always be written in purple.

Danish Butter Cookies

Danish Butter Cookies
1 cup softened butter (no substitutes)
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons maple syrup
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Sprinkling of confectioner's sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Add syrup; mix well.

Combine flour and baking soda, gradually adding these dry ingredients to the
creamed mixture.

Divide dough into eight portions.

Roll each portion into a 9- to 10-inch log. Place each log 3 inches apart on
ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into
1-1/2-inch slices.

Remove to wire racks to cool. Dust with confectioner's sugar.
Makes 4 dozen.
